On Super Bowl weekend we undertook the single largest community outreach event in the history of The Open Door, and thanks to your help the event was a tremendous success. You joined over 200 community members who volunteered their time to bag groceries, sell Cub Kick Hunger bags of food, and spread the mission of The Open Door to thousands of shoppers at all 3 Cub Store locations in Eagan.
Thanks to our volunteer’s generous gift of time, energy, and enthusiasm we raised nearly $36,000 in cash and food donations!
The collective impact of your efforts goes far beyond the dollars raised and the food collected…your time and efforts helped bring the issue of hunger in our community front and center on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year, and helped hundreds of shoppers learn about our mission of ending local hunger through access to healthy food.
Thank you for giving time on your weekend, for putting yourself out there and talking to strangers, and thank you for representing The Open Door with compassion and class.
This event took more than volunteer power…it also took financial support. Home Federal, Cub Foods, and the Urgency Room laid the ground work as title sponsors, and are deserving of our gratitude as well as our support. Eagan Kick-Start Rotary, The Summitt Foundation, Wenzel Heating & Air Conditioning, and Xcel Energy, and all of our sponsors listed below gave to make this event the success that it was. Please support the companies and individuals who support The Open Door.
And THANK YOU to everyone who donated cash or purchased a Cub Kick Hunger bag. Your generosity helps to make sure those who visit The Open Door have access to food for their families.
