Hello from The Open Door!
You’re receiving this email because you have visited our Pantry in the past few months, and we have an important update to share with you.
Hundreds of our families have shared their feedback during our recent survey and We Hear You – You need to come more often and would like it to be less crowded.
We are working hard to help you get food more often. We know the wait between shopping appointments is too long right now, and we can improve this, but we need your help.
Beginning May 19th, we are making a few changes we believe will help reduce the time between available appointments for you and the thousands of families who need support. These changes are meant to make the shopping experience easier and less crowded for everyone.
- Some produce items will be pre-bagged: Items like potatoes and onions will be pre-bagged and ready to quickly grab.
- Limits on each category: Instead of “Bonus” items, every area will have limits displayed. By setting limits – and following them – we can ensure every family gets the food they need.
- Only one adult per household in shopping area: To help us manage crowding, we ask that only one adult per household enter the shopping area. Young children will certainly be able to remain with you.
These are just the first steps. We’ll keep working to make the Pantry better for everyone.
Thank you for being part of our community!
