What is the Miss a Meal Challenge?
The Miss a Meal for March Challenge is a fun way to help fight hunger in Dakota County – and get your Facebook friends to play, too!
This March, The Open Door food pantry is asking you to skip one meal and donate what you would have spent on that meal to our hunger relief efforts.
Skip a meal. Forgo your morning coffee and bagel stop. Take a walk instead of going to lunch. Do without dinner one night.
Donate to The Open Door. Figure out what you would have spent on your missed meal and donate it to The Open Door. Click the DONATE button on the side of this page.
Get social! Take a photo of your missed meal or record a short video and share fast facts you’ve learned about hunger.
Share on Facebook! Use the hashtag #MissAMeal4March.
Be sure to tag The Open Door (@TheOpenDoorMN) so we can see and share with our followers.
Tag Your Friends!
Choose two or three friends and tag them in the Miss a Meal for March Challenge. Encourage them to keep the ball rolling to help fight hunger in our community.
Help Us Go Viral!
The Miss a Meal for March Challenge is a light-hearted way to highlight a serious problem in Dakota County. Every dollar you donate to The Open Door helps us offer fresh and healthy food to the more than 6,000 clients we serve each month. And in March, your dollar goes further. Every gift is amplified through MN Food Share’s March Campaign, which provides a matching pool of funds raised on a statewide level. The more we raise, the more we will receive!
