Open Door wins 2018 Community Impact Award from Dakota County Regional Chamber

Sarah O'Brien November 14, 2018 Leave a Comment

The Open Door is thrilled to share that we were chosen as the 2018 Community Impact Award Winner by the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce at last week’s Business Excellence Awards Gala!

Recognition of our work is always appreciated, but being chosen by our local business leaders and fellow chamber members is special. Having the sharpest business minds in our community recognize the innovative ways our volunteers and staff work every day to make fresh and healthy food available to those who need it most is especially validating.

Sharing the stage with the Minnesota Vikings, Think Mutual Bank and Legacy Award Winner Scott Swenson from Home Federal Savings Bank is sincerely humbling.

We share this award with every one of you who has donated food, grown and given fresh vegetables, made a financial contribution, or volunteered their time to those we serve. Each of you has helped us grow from a tiny food shelf at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church to an Award-winning organization changing what it means to be a food shelf. On behalf of our hundreds of dedicated volunteers, and the more than 6,000 of our neighbors we feed each month, “Thank You!”
