Get energized for the MN FoodShare’s March campaign and help re-stock our shelves!
Over the past year, you have helped us transform our organization and allowed us to respond to the pandemic-spurred hunger crisis. You have helped us more than double the number of people we helped last year by making 2.7 million pounds of fresh and healthy food easier to access for thousands each month. While we are overwhelmed with gratitude, the need continues.
People in need of food support in Dakota County is at an all-time high. More than one out of three Minnesotans struggle to pay their bills every month, and we have seen dramatic increases in the number of first time visitors. Last year we welcomed more than 31,000 first-time visitors to our food shelf, and we are still serving an average of 14,000 people each month – double the number of people served monthly prior to the pandemic. We know that low-wage earners and families with young children have been hit the hardest during the pandemic. More than half the clients we served last year were children.
We have another big year ahead of us ensuring healthy food is available. With your help, we will continue to support thousands of families in need of food right here in Dakota County. Your gift this March will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000, and proportionally matched through the statewide MN FoodShare’s March Campaign for even greater impact! Help us raise $200,000 this March and continue fighting hunger in our community each and every day.
Should I give a food or financial gift?
The answer is we need both! Financial gifts go further and give us the flexibility needed to keep the organization healthy and nimble!
We have a top list of needed items to help you spend your dollars on items we cannot buy at a discount from our Food Bank partners!
