Donors who reach the required minimum distribution age of 72 (or 70½ if born before 7/1/1949) can experience tax benefits by donating via a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from an existing IRA.

These QCD donations can be used to fulfill your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year, which may decrease your tax burden while furthering The Open Door’s mission.

Gifts of up to $100,000 total from your IRA(s) could potentially be made without being taxed via a QCD donation IRA gifts may not be deductible; however, they might increase your ability to make other deductible charitable gifts.

Charitable donations to The Open Door through your IRA may limit the increase to your taxable incomes even if you do not itemize deductions.

Charitable Gift Annuities
A Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) is a simple, tax-effective gift that mutually benefits you and the charitable organization of your choice.

When you make a charitable gift to fund a CGA, you receive an immediate tax-deduction on a portion of that gift. You then receive fixed payments every year for the duration of your life.

Your legacy lives on after your passing as the remaining balance of your gift goes to support The Open Door.
