This summer, we are excited to be a part of the AmeriCorps Emergency Response Initiative! This new, statewide initiative has been created to help meet the urgent and emerging community needs related to COVID-19.
The Open Door is in need of four AmeriCorps members. We need two AmeriCorps members at our Mobile Food Distribution site in Apple Valley. AmeriCorps members will: collect, inspect, sort and store food rescue on a daily basis at the Mobile Pantry warehouse. Load appropriate food into buses/vans for daily distribution and drive buses/vans to food distribution sites. Manage client flow, track and record appropriate data for each site. Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds and be mobile for a large portion of their time at the pantry.
We need one AmeriCorps member at our Eagan Pantry to help restock the food pantry daily, sort food donations, support volunteers and help with client intake.
We need on AmeriCorps member to support our Garden to Table program helping recruit volunteers; organize materials needed for Garden to Table events; coordinate weekly workdays and tasks at each garden; communicate needs to gardeners about upkeep and family/volunteer commitment; engage Giving Gardens through seasonal garden classes and in person/email/phone check-ins and supervise large volunteer groups (6-30 volunteers) on a weekly basis during the growing season. Member will need to be able to work outdoors in all weather; the ability to lift 40 pounds; stand, sit and kneel be mobile for a large portion of their time at the pantry.

The positions are 35 hours a week from June 8 – August 15.
As part of the Emergency Response Initiative, AmeriCorps will provide:
- A stipend of $650 every two weeks
- Individual health insurance (monthly premium 100% paid)
- An additional $1,289.95 for tuition or student loans
