Betsy

Betsy recently moved to Eagan and likes it very much. She has a background in Early Childhood education and continues to be an educator. It keeps her young! She has two daughters—one in Rosemount and one in Seattle—and four wonderful grandsons aged 2-14. She is active in her church and plays cards at Senior Centers in three communities.

Jill

Jill is a single mother who has always welcomed her daughter’s friends into her home and “adopted” many. She is a trained chef who enjoys gardening and loves cooking.

Gerard

Gerard is the father of four children, lives in Lakeville, and has a background in Criminal Justice. He has recently become a certified Building Operation Technician. Gerard’s favorite hobby is soccer, and he likes to talk about community issues.

Theresa

Theresa is attending Liberty University online to complete her Master’s degree in human service counseling. She plans to bring her counseling and lay ministry skills together to work in disaster relief. She has enjoyed 30 years of teaching, plus homeschooling her five children, including two with special needs. When she is not at home with her children or studying, she is tutoring immigrant families, and getting their teens ready for college by teaching ACT prep. When she takes time out of her busy schedule she might be found at the Senior Center exercising, playing cards, attempting to do yoga, or hanging out with friends. She enjoys laughing, cooking, painting rocks and taking walks. She excels at being an advocate for children with rare diseases (including her son), autism (ASD), fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), mental health issues and recovery, community hunger relief, and raising three children as a single mom on a limited budget.

Claudia

Claudia greatly enjoys seeing things in nature, especially near Lake Superior; hiking the trails in the State Parks and seeing the waterfalls. She also enjoys music. She sings in church choir and Velvet Tones, a co-ed singing group for people over 55 years. She likes when she gets to visit her daughters and their families in southwestern MN and ND. Her oldest son lives nearby and every weekend prepare meals and bake desserts, play cribbage and go on hikes. They also enjoy going to Como Park in St. Paul to see the conservatory and the zoo and attend concerts and plays.
