The Open Door Moved!

You are here: Home / The Open Door Moved!

**ANNOUNCEMENT**

The Open Door relocated in 2023 to
3000 Ames Crossing Road.

In our new, larger space we’ll be able to bring in more food, store more food, and ultimately distribute more food to make greater strides toward ending hunger in Dakota County.

In January 2023, The Open Door closed operations at 3904 Cedar Grove Parkway and 3910 Rahn Road and relocated to 3000 Ames Crossing Road in Eagan. The Eagan Pantry and our entire staff are housed under the same roof for the first time in our organization’s history!

Moving into one location will undoubtedly help us become a more effective and consistent organization. Here are just a few of the benefits we expect to see:

  • Improved staff, volunteer, and client communication
  • Double the existing Eagan Pantry Shopping Space
  • Increased Cold Storage Capacity – more fresh, healthy food
  • Room to grow to increase number of appointments per month
**If you use The Open Door’s services through a Mobile Pantry distribution or a Garden to Table site, you will still go to the same location!!**

Where We Moved

The Open Door is leasing an 18,800 square feet of combined office, shopping, and warehouse space at 3000 Ames Crossing Rd, Eagan MN 55121, just 8 miles from our previous Eagan Pantry.

From being squished in the backroom of the Eagan Pantry, to relying on the parking lot at Mobile for overflow and staging, to seeing office staff 2 and 3 to a room, you have probably noticed our organization has been bursting at its seams for some time now.

Over the past 3 years The Open Door has scaled up its operations to feed double, and sometimes triple the number of people in our community and done so at a remarkable pace!  Our staff and volunteers have maximized our cobbled together collection of spaces while squeezing every last drop out of their creativity and patience.

It has become clear that to feed more people, The Open Door needs two things: more space, and to bring all of our Programs together under one roof.

What we Gain

From increased efficiency & streamlined operations to room to grow and a broadened reach in Dakota County – The Open Door is poised to feed more people than ever before!

We are so grateful for your support in our 13-year history serving Dakota County.
We can’t wait to see you at our new, larger, more efficient home!
