Welcome to The Open Door!
Our Mission: Ending local hunger through access to healthy food
The Open Door is a hunger relief organization dedicated to ending local hunger through access to healthy food. As one of the 5 largest food shelves in Minnesota, The Open Door provides fresh and healthy food to more than 17,000 people each month through a combination of innovative programs.
WHAT WE DO
The Open Door Pantry
Our fixed-site food shelf is located at 3000 Ames Crossing Rd, in Eagan. Clients “shop” by appointment for fresh food and pantry staples.
The Mobile Pantry
Our trucks are loaded with fresh & healthy food and hit the road to visit 30+ community sites across Dakota County on a monthly basis.
The Mobile Lunchbox
During summer months, our vans deliver lunch to students in 26 neighborhoods 5 days a week throughout Dakota County.
Garden to Table
We provide plots, plants, tools, and coaching as residents grow their own healthy food at 12 community gardens across Dakota County.
