- Funds are available to lower your heating costs
- Renters and homeowners are encourage to apply
If you rent, you may be eligible if you pay for heat directly to an energy vendor or indirectly to a landlord. If you own your home, you may also get help repairing or replacing a furnace. - Eligibility is based on the past three months of income
- Grants range from $100 to $1,400 depending on family size, income and energy consumption. Average grants are about $500.
Examples of maximum annual household incomes are:
- Household with 1 person: $23,949
- Household with 2 people: $31,318
- Household with 3 people: $38,687
- Household with 4 people: $46,056

Energy Assistance
- Call for an application and return to Rosemount CAP agency
- CAP will review the information to determine eligibility. The amount will be divided over 3 months in either your electric or gas account or both.
- If you have a disconnect notice and you get Energy Assistance you may be eligible for crisis funds if they are available. You will need to meet with an Energy Assistance Case Manager to work on a budget
- Being eligible for energy assistance does not mean you don’t have to pay your utilities during the winter months. You will be shut off come April if you haven’t paid your bills in full.
- Apply for Cold Weather protection by contacting you utility companies. If you qualify you can avoid being shut off during the winter months of October 15–April 15th

The Dakota County Child Support Agency and Dakota County Attorney’s Office work together to provide a variety of services to make sure that a child receives support including:
- Locating parents
- Collecting and processing payments
- Changing and/or enforcing an existing child support order
- Identifying and verifying sources of income
- Establishing a court order for child support
- Establishing paternity
