After an extensive search, The Open Door’s Board of Directors and staff are pleased to welcome Jason Viana as the organization’s new Executive Director, filling the position vacated by Lisa Horn in October. A 10-year veteran in the nonprofit sector, Jason holds a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from Hamline University. Jason comes to The Open Door as an accomplished leader and program manager with vast experience in volunteer management, financial development, marketing, and public affairs, most recently with the Minnesota Region of the American Red Cross.
“Under my leadership we will build upon the work Lisa and this team have been doing for the past six years. I will empower The Open Door’s board, staff, and volunteers to continue finding innovative ways to eliminate hunger in our community through improved access to healthy foods, and seek strategic partnerships to continue addressing the underlying issue of poverty. With the continued support of our community partners and volunteers, I have no doubt that The Open Door will continue on its path as a model hunger-eradication organization”, Viana says.
Kris Albright, interim executive director since October, will resume her role as Finance Manager as Jason’s leadership officially starts April 18.
