Tony is the Community Relations Officer at The Open Door. His primary role is partnering with businesses and organizations to secure funding and in-kind benefits to help enable our mission of ending local hunger.
Tony and his wife Colleen, a St. Paul native, reside in Eagan. He started volunteering at the Eagan Pantry and was inspired by the relationships he formed with other volunteers and staff.
The majority of Tony’s prior career was working for investment management firms in business development and marketing roles across the Intermediary, Institutional and International segments. These prior roles help him partner with businesses and organizations to create flexible options and solutions for them to align to our mission.
These partnerships are now even more relevant while working throughout the COVID-19 crisis. He is inspired with how everyone partners to provide more fresh and healthy food than prior to the pandemic. “Innovation, collaboration and flexibility are more important than ever, it is impressive the way everyone continues to work together during this uncertainty” Tony said.
“Everyone I meet, across our donor community, business partners, organizations, clients, volunteers, our staff and our board are great to partner with. It is gratifying to be part of such a meaningful organization,” Tony said.
Tony’s favorite thing about The Open Door is the opportunity to help individuals and families during a critical time in their lives. He likes knowing that the organization’s efforts have the potential to ultimately help recalibrate their lives in a positive direction.
When Tony is not working, he enjoys traveling with his wife, visiting their two grown children, and rooting for the Minnesota United soccer club.
